Emma Joy Iezzoni

Emma has been a trusted partner to leaders for over 15 years, known for bringing clear thinking, curiosity, and steady energy to every engagement. Her experience is primarily in financial services, but she has consulted in the academic, government, biotechnology, and hospitality industries as well. She has also dedicated years of work to nonprofit and pro bono engagements.

Her early career included work both in Marketing at the Smithsonian and in Nairobi, Kenya on IDP reintegration programs for young women. She later joined a boutique HR consultancy before moving to Deloitte, where she advised Fortune 500 clients on post-deal integration efforts totaling more than $20 billion. After certifying as an executive facilitator in Deloitte’s Greenhouse, she led high-stakes organizational strategy and team dynamics sessions for C-suite teams undergoing M&A.

In 2019, Emma joined Vanguard to lead the People Analytics Consulting function. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and the Great Resignation, she played a critical role in reducing burnout in her department by 53% all while advancing enterprise-wide strategies for retaining critical talent domains. Before founding EJ Intelligence, Emma spent three years as the Head of Client Experience & Engagement for Vanguard’s Wealth Management business.

Emma is a certified Veritux community consultant. She will hold an MBA from Villanova University with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, has a BA in International Economics from American University, and is a SHRM-SCP certified HR professional. Emma also loves her time as a guest lecturer at select business schools, where she discusses subjects such as social network analysis, leadership effectiveness, and the impact of AI on the workforce.
